Tata Steel Jamshedpur Plant has announced vacancies for apprenticeships for students who have passed the tenth grade. The last date to apply online for this apprentice program is January 17, 2024. Only students from the states of Jharkhand and Odisha who have completed their tenth grade can fill out the form. The apprentice course has a duration of two years. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, tenth-grade pass students from Tata Steel Limited will receive a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC). Detailed information is provided below.

Application Fee:
- Candidates need to pay the specified charges (Rs. 500/-) to be eligible for the assessment. Payment can be made through the Online Payment Gateway provided in the application.
Age Limit:
- The candidate must have been born between 01-Jan-2005 and 01-July-2008.
- Transgender and Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates must have been born between 01-Jan-2004 and 01-July-2008.
Stipend:
- Selected candidates will receive a stipend during the training period as specified in the Apprentices Act, contingent on satisfactory performance and conduct.
Selection Process:
- Selection involves a Centre-Based Online Written Test, followed by a Personal Interview and Medical Examination.
Qualification:
- Trade Apprenticeship: Matriculation or equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 70% (60% for Transgender and SC/ST candidates). Must have English, Science, and Mathematics as subjects.
Physical Fitness:
- Height: 152 cm (for girls 142 cm)
- Weight: 45 Kg (for girls 40 Kg)
- Expansion of Chest: 5 cm
- Power of Glasses: ± 4.0 maximum
- Eyesight: 6/6 in both eyes with glasses
- Colour Vision: Normal
Important Instructions:
- Allocation of Trade and Duration of Training will be based on merit.
- The Apprenticeship Training Programme is governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961.
- On successful completion, candidates may be placed at any location of Tata Steel Ltd or its subsidiaries.
- Out-station candidates will be provided free hostel accommodation with food during their training period.
